Community

The Academy will seek to bring the community together through provision of valuable extended services and out of hours opportunities.

The Academy will:

•Provide study support, including suitable learning spaces open before and after school to support individual requirements and to overcome barriers to learning.
•Encourage community engagement by serving wider adult and family needs through community education programmes, and access to specialist resources such as ICT, and sports facilities.
•Partner with the north Stockton extended school cluster, so that young people and their families can access and benefit from the full core offer of extended services including a range of activities, parenting support, childcare and swift and easy access to targeted and specialist services.
•Partner with the Integrated Service Area – whereby other agencies such as the police, Connexions, children and adult mental health service and the Youth Offending Service provide support beyond the school day, ensuring that the needs of our most vulnerable young people are coordinated, specific and relevant.
•Involve local businesses in the delivery of the work related curriculum content.
•Promote sustainability and environmental issues.
