Connecting Classrooms programme links NSHA with schools in United Arab Emirates. The UK cluster is made up of four schools: NSHA, Grangefield School, Northfield School and Abbey Hill School.  Each school has a staff representative coordinating the project.  The cluster has a coordinator who facilitates and links activities within all four schools.

The United Arab Emirates’ cluster consists of 10 schools also represented by local teachers and overseen by a cluster coordinator.

Partners from UAE have recently visited the area and UK cluster schools; experiencing learning walks, lesson observations, student interaction and training on Building Learning Power and Visual Impairment Strategies.  Students Leaders had the opportunity to meet The Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Paul Baker, during an official ‘Welcome’  lunch at NSHA.    link here please

The programme is beginning Year 2 of a three-year project.  The theme of which is ‘This Land is Our Land’.  Topics and areas in which to work together were discussed and agreed during the UAE visit.  These include: Water, Lifestyle and Healthy Living and Our future; personal and national.  Work prepared by students will be uploaded onto a website and Years 7 & 8 will become pen friends, exchanging letters with students in UAE.

It is anticipated that all Year 7 and some Year 8 students will be involved in this project.
