Punctuality
Punctuality is an important part of self-discipline and is essential to good time management. Prospective employers always want a report on punctuality at the Academy. You should bring a note explaining the reason for late arrival and report to reception.
Attendance
If you are ill your parents must ring the Academy office (01642 612381) as early as possible on the first day of absence.
You must bring a note from your parents when you return and sign the absence page at the back of your dobook, even if they have telephoned the Academy.
The Academy cannot authorise absence for days away, shopping or looking after family. Parents are requested not to arrange family holidays during term time, where this is unavoidable a holiday form should be completed well in advance.
The law will only allow us to authorise holidays for:
•10 school days in 1 academic year (Sept- July), including annual family holidays.
Uniform policy
The Academy regards the uniform as an important aspect of Academy life: when wearing the uniform, students are Academy ambassadors and their behaviour both on and off site should recognise this. The uniform is an important aspect of building an Academy ethos and identity, as such it should be respected and adhered to by all students. Tutors and staff will help monitor and ensure the standard of uniforms within the Academy. Students will be praised and rewarded for consistency maintaining uniform standards. The Academy is proud of its uniform and encourages students to take pride in it. The Academy expects and values parental support in ensuring the uniform’s high standards.
